Plants, trees.grass and of course flowers are addressed as ‘Appoo’ (Poo in tamil is flower)by her,so they have a common name for now with Ambuli.
Ball and Balloon share the same name ‘Baa’.
Water and older female kid are addressed as ‘Akka’ ( We used to tell water as ‘Akkam’)
Legs, cat are addressed as ‘kaa’.(Kaal in tamil is Leg,Cat is being pronounced as “kaa’)
P.S: A recent word learnt is ‘Aeopee’,any guesses?

Methinks Ambuli is a genius in waiting . By AOP, she could mean Advanced Oxidation Process, or Air Observation Post, or All one polynomial. If she were to be IT inclined, she could be meaning Aspect Oriented Programming or Asianux on pSeries. If she wanted to get into business it could be Annual Operating Plan or Average of Period. If she was in to wildlife it could be Australian Orangutan Project or Aquarium of the Pacific. Maybe she’s going to be a linguist and she is actually saying Appellation d’Origine Protégée. But somehow I think she’s goading mama to blog saying amma oru post …..

She is genius in waiting(??) and you are already a genius.
Am amazed at the level you coined all these terms, should you consider writing a book as everyone says?
Australian Orangutan? is there something like that really?

May 24, 2010 at 8:33 am
Well,if not this time, you are genius always and now claim genuineness 🙂 .

Its Tamizh indeed, but i wasnt very sure to tell bcoz,my mom’s tamizh is influenced by Trivandrum slang from her mother, and father side ppl used to tell water as Jalam/thootham.(Gils idhu kelvi pattu irukkela?)
May 26, 2010 at 3:19 pm
It is usually said kkkum or ikkkam. It is kids’ language, and a way of expression like Amma (Ma) is universal. 🙂
